Power for Parkinson’s

This time of year is meant to support those who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and to spread awareness about the ailments of the disease as well. Power for Parkinson’s is a nonprofit organization located in Austin, Texas that provides free fitness, dance, and singing classes for people with Parkinson’s disease. Their mission is to slow or even reverse the effects of PD, improve overall sense of well-being, provide opportunities for socialization, and help prevent depression and isolation that often accompanies the disease from doing regular exercise.
On April 22 at 1 p.m., Power for Parkinson’s is holding a live fitness session over Zoom. This session will include cardio, strength, balance, agility, and brain exercises, along with stretching. This class is intended for all fitness levels and there can be modifications made to either increase or decrease the exercise.
